Mr. Rogers on Success
“There are three ways to ultimate success: The first way is to be kind. The second way is to be kind. The third way is to be kind.”–Mister Rogers
Yes, I know. Highly cheesy, isn’t it?
And yet, not a bad reminder considering all the displays of ugliness going round the world.
Just last week I had to reach out to the field for time sensitive assistance. I’ve never interacted with any of the people I connected, but I tripped over myself thanking them for the short turnaround, and you know what? I got what I needed in under three hours. That’s great by any standard, but for a bureaucratic workplace? That’s damn near unheard of!
So, this week, let’s check our tempers and our impatience and our exasperation. There’s a different quotation out there from Maya Angelou that says people will not remember what you said but will remember how you made them feel. I’m going to yank, erm, take, a page from that book and see how well it goes for me.
Talk to you again soon!
